Roberto De Zerbi praised the Brighton team's performance in Saturday's 4-1 win over Chelsea in the 2022/2023 Premier League, Saturday (29/10/2022) evening WIB at the AMEX Stadium.
Brighton greeted Graham Potter with jeers throughout the game. The home fans even sing, 'Sacked tomorrow' every time a goal is nested in the Chelsea goal.
In that match, Leandro Trossard put the hosts ahead with just five minutes of play before two own goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah put Brighton into the first half with a three-goal advantage.
Kai Havertz scored shortly after the second half, but Brighton put in a solid rearguard display before Pascal Gross sealed a 4-1 win.
Aim for Two Players
Chelsea again used the same formation when competing in the Champions League, namely Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling at wing-back.
De Zerbi also saw that the situation made Chelsea's back line porous. He gave instructions to target two defenders, namely Marc Cucurella and Trevoh Chalobah, as weak points.
"We are preparing for the one-on-one matches, namely Mitoma with Chalobah and also Solly March against Cucurella."
"But Trossard is fantastic, Adam Lallana is the same. All the players are fantastic."
Don't want to celebrate too much
De Zerbi said, this 4-1 victory should not be celebrated excessively. Many busy and heavy schedules await.
"I won't celebrate too much, because next Saturday is another game. In the game I made a mistake because Chelsea made a tactical change and I didn't adapt.
"But 4-1 against Chelsea is still a great result and I hope everyone enjoys it."
